Celebrate Los Osos depends upon volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to preserve, protect, enhance and improve our community.

Whether they are repairing our iconic bridge bears or redwood welcome signs, planting oaks, pulling Sahara mustard and other invasive plants, or helping clean up the trash at Cuesta Inlet, our volunteers make all the difference and a BIG impact.

Our projects are popular because they are unique, easy, fun and only last 2-3 hours once or twice a year. You get to pick and choose which projects you’d like to help on. If one doesn’t appeal to you, skip it and join the next one.

Everyone has some way to contribute. Currently Celebrate Los Osos has nearly 400 volunteers, see below, who are willing to do anything from designing a landscape, signing in volunteers, helping with social media and press releases, sanding an iconic sign, pulling weeds or pouring beer at a fund-raising music festival.

We believe everyone has the ability to contribute to our projects. People bring different skills and experiences to Celebrate Los Osos and everyone is welcome! Our volunteers range from highly skilled, well-known local contractors to enthusiastic teens — people of all ages, from all walks of life and background. We have projects that anyone can help with from those who are able to leap tall buildings in a single to those with limited mobility. We’ve even had visitors from other states volunteer to help on projects.

Volunteer Waiver and Release

Celebrate Los Osos is not responsible for an injury or accident that may occur during my participation as a volunteer in any activity or event. I understand that by signing below I assume full responsibility for any injury or accident that may occur during my participation as a volunteer, and I hereby release and hold harmless and covenant not to file suit against Celebrate Los Osos, Celebrate Los Osos’ Board of Directors and any affiliated individuals associated with my participation from any loss, liability or claims I may have arising out of my participation, including personal injury or damage suffered by me or others, whether caused by falls, contact with participants, conditions of the facility or project site, negligence of the releases or otherwise. If I do not agree to these terms, I understand that I am not allowed to participate in the volunteer program.
